Our preschool program prepares children for the next stage of their education.
Our focus in preschool is to continue and extend the teachings from the daycare (such as independence, curiosity, language development and creativity) and include more formalised education that prepares children for primary school.
Our preschool curriculum emphasises numeracy, literacy, science and social skills. Our weekly themes ensure we cover traditional education topics (such as numbers, colours, shapes and the alphabet) while also allowing us to explore science and social skills (such as dinosaurs, the planets, and our families) as well as topics that promote positive character development (such as honesty, kindness, and fairness).
We also offer extracurricular activities such as music, dance and sports and take the children out on school trips to enhance their development.
Our daycare program focuses on helping toddlers develop their language, social, emotional, and self-help skills.
Using a play-based approach to learning, our teachers promote curiosity and exploration in our younger children by encouraging them to independently explore, investigate and observe, with our teachers watching them closely and always on hand to support and help.
We also provide opportunities for toddlers to develop their gross and fine motor skills through climbing, crawling and running.
We understand that every child is unique and learns differently, so we provide individualised attention to each child, including children that may require additional help.
Working closely with families, and in collaboration with a special needs education consultant, we create individualised plans that address each child's unique strengths and needs.
Our experienced educators (our director and teachers) have all received Early Years Childhood postgraduate training. They are able to recognise each child's individual needs and provide the support and guidance they need to reach their full potential.
Family involvement in a child's education is an essential and valuable asset to ensure that we fully meet the needs of each child. We encourage active parent participation in the development of our school.
We involve parents in the education and progress of their children to encourage and build a strong relationship between home and school. We also promote interaction between our team and families where we discuss their child's progress and changes in routines, interests and development at home.
To promote supportive family networks, we organise two parent-led events each term. Our 'mums for mums' event is specifically for mothers and other female carers, while our 'family enrichment' event is for any family member with caregiving responsibilities for the children that attend our school. The family member can be mums, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Details of our next family events can be found in our calendar and events page. To join our next family event, contact our office to book your place.
